www.sixtostart.com – these uber cool change junkies are creating and inventing new kinds of entertainment. Their work for Penguin books really makes you understand just how powerful the internet has become. Founded by an Oxbridge Neuroscientist.
www.weareorganizedchaos.com – We Are Organized Chaos (WAOC) is the blog of interactive San Fran hot shop Zugara (www.zugara.com). Check out the work they have been doing on augmented reality, it’s very cool and just a taste of what’s to come.
www.zopa.com – a brilliant way to get a loan without ever needing to speak with a bank or loan shark. Founded by a guy who used to sell cars, genius.
www.recruitmentrevolution.com – a revolutionary way to avoid the exorbitant prices of traditional recruiters. Pay NO upfront costs and then only £575 when you hire somebody. Founded by a guy with no experience of the recruitment sector, proving the point that true disruption comes from intelligent naivety.
www.mindstorm.com – you’ve seen this technology in films like Minority report and Quantum of Solace, it’s even made an appearance on this seasons X factor. It’s called interactive surface technology, which is a bit of a mouthful, but if you want to see how we will all be interacting in retail environments in the future then check these guys out. The company was founded by 2 Danish entrepreneurs known as “The Wizards”.
www.trendwatching.com – One of our favourite resources that gives us a snapshot of amazing new trends and business concepts that are happening from Brixton to Brazil. They have a great newsletter you can sign up for which makes for a great source of inspiration.
www.opencoffee.ning.com – If you’re an entrepreneur with an idea but need advice and to bounce your ideas of other like-minded entrepreneur’s then OpenCoffee Club is just the ticket. Started in London and now around the world, OpenCoffee Club is a regular, open and informal meeting place for people involved in start-ups to meet. The London arm is run by a VC/entrepreneur called Saul Klein who is a partner at the VC firm Index Ventures.
